As the founder of The Red Thread Atelier, I'm thrilled to welcome you to our modern and chic needlepoint destination in the heart of Locust Valley, New York. My name is Vaughn Dorrian, and I'm a wife, mother, and passionate needlepoint enthusiast.
In January 2022, I picked up stitching for the first time, and I was instantly hooked. With two of my three children now out of the house, I found myself with some extra time on my hands.
That's when I realized there was a gap in the market for a local needlepoint store on Long Island, and I knew my small town of Locust Valley was the perfect place to bring my vision to life.
I invite you all to come and experience the charm of this special place for yourself—The Red Thread Atelier is just a short walk from the Locust Valley train station, making it the perfect destination for a day trip.
At The Red Thread Atelier, we're not your grandmother's needlepoint store. We've curated a modern, chic collection of canvases, threads, and finishing accessories from both established and up-and-coming designers.
Our goal is to inspire stitchers of all skill levels and create a welcoming community where creativity, connection, and a love for the craft can flourish.
